This Dev Sticks With Visual Studio
In this episode of the TPM podcast Jim Gibbs, a .NET Development Team Lead at EBSCO, explains why Visual Studio is still the only game in town when it comes to working with .NET. Visual Studio may have a large footprint but features like intellisense make it a pleasure to code with. Jim also likes Aptana when it comes to PHP. Cloud9 is intriguing as a future direction for on-line development as everything moves to the cloud but it still lacks important capabilities – the most of important of which is required internet connectivity.
Ultimately Jim thinks that choosing an IDE is a personal choice that should be left to each dev. All the more power to people who know EMACS like the backs of their hand.
