Be The Master Of Your Destiny With Software Defined Storage
In this episode of the TPM podcast show Robert Novak, Director of Systems Architecture at Nextenta Systems, talks about how Software Defined Storage is changing the traditional model of pricey proprietary hardware solutions that have no cross-vendor compatibility. Organizations are able to use SDS on commodity hardware and pick whichever individual components they like for reliability and cost. Better, Robert also points out that SDS is ahead of the curve in supporting new hardware technologies that the dedicated storage systems are still years away from incorporating. It would just be nice if there was some standardization around SDS – which is sorely lacking.
